Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Ulysse J. Hebert, the former Mercedes Ronsonet, 86, on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 10:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 8:00 AM until the service time. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 PM. A native of White Castle, a former resident of New Iberia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Hebert passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 8:00 AM at her residence. She was the owner and operator of Hebert's Grocery Store in Jeanerette. She loved arts & crafts, crocheting, cooking, gardening and going to the casino. She is survived by her husband, Ulysse J. Hebert of Jeanerette; her sons, Sterling Hebert and his wife Karen of St. Martinville, Alvin Hebert and his wife Rebecca of Jeanerette and Norman Hebert, Sr. and his wife Jerry of Catahoula; her daughter, Peggy Myers Dubois and her husband Clarence of New Iberia; her sister, Ella Champagne Darby of Coteau; her brother, Joseph Champagne of Youngsville; her sister-in-law, Albitina Ronsonet of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Kevin Hebert, Theresa Hebert, Brandy Sanders, Angel Mcquire, Alita Dubois, Jay Dubois, Dusty Dubois, Jessica Hebert, Angie Hebert, Nicole Robertson, Casey Hebert and Aquieta Wroten; twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John Eddie Ronsonet, Sr.; her mother, Delta Morales Ronsonet; her brothers, John Ronsonet, Jr. and Willis Ronsonet; her sister, Marion R. Bufkin and her grandchild, Norman Hebert, Jr. Pallbearers will be Sterling Hebert, Alvin Hebert, Frank McNett, Jay Dubois and Josh Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Richard Dubois, III and Dusty Dubois.
