Clara Baudoin Aucoin

Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 7th at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville at 10:30 AM to celebrate the life of Clara Belle Baudoin Aucoin, 95, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 3rd at Our Lady of Lourdes after suffering a stroke on Ash Wednesday. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday, March 6th 4 p.m.- 9 p.m. with the rosary led by the St. Anne Ladies Auxiliary at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. On Saturday, March 7th the body will be exposed at St. Anne Church from 9:30 a.m. until funeral at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. Anne cemetery. Very Rev. Msgr. Alexandre Larroque, JCD, Vicar General will be the Celebrant of the funeral mass. Concelebrant will be Rev. Jody Simoneaux, and Rev. Jason Mouton. Clara, a native of Youngsville was born on January 3, 1920. She graduated at age 16, in 1936, from Youngsville High School. Her first job was working for the Cotton Gin at Dupleix, Viguerie and Langlinais. She then worked as a postal clerk retiring in January, 1981. She was involved in her church as a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Anne Ladies Altar Society and also served on the St. Anne Parish Council. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a woman of great faith and had a nurturing spirit for her family. She was a lifelong caregiver for her parents, husband, brother and grandsons. She loved people and was especially fond of young children and always appreciative of their visits and kindness to her. She had a daily ritual of praying for all her loved ones and friends in need. She took great care in reciting the prayer cards for those that left this world before her. Clara is survived by her two sons, Gregory Aucoin and Jerry Aucoin. Anna Larriviere, and Debbie Burley whom she considered as daughters. Ben Burley, who was like her son-in-law. Daniel, Michael, David Burley who were like her grandsons. Her sister-in-law Madeleine Baudoin, and several nieces and nephews. Also a "special" friend, Joan Wick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Galbert Baudoin and the former Lea Landry; her husband Otis; her brothers Ivy, James, Fred, Harry and her sister, Anna Lee Larriviere. Pallbearers will include Gregory Aucoin, Jerry Aucoin, Ben Burley, Daniel Burley, Michael Burley, and David Burley. Honorary pallbearers, Luke Burley, Gene Baudoin, Paul Baudoin, Steve Baudoin, Charles Baudoin, Mark Baudoin, Dr. Bryan Baudoin. The family is grateful for the care given to Clara at Camelot Nursing Home, 4th and 5th floor nurses and assistants at Our Lady of Lourdes, and Heart of Hospice Care.
