Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Oswald Joseph Broussard, the former Lodo Aucoin, 90, on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Dismus Mauk officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Loreauville. Visitation will be on Friday, March 6, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 8:00 AM until the service time. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 PM. A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Broussard passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 8:30 AM in a New Iberia hospital. Lodo was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved people, dancing and caring for people. Two of her famous sayings were "Thank You Sha" and "It will all come out in the wash". She was genuine in thoughts, words and actions. She loved playing games with her grandchildren, Chinese Checkers and Croquet. You could hear her telling the residents of Maison Teche "Keep up the good work". The love for her children was very evident. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Maison Teche Nursing Home, especially Lois, for their over whelming compassionate care and love. She will always be remembered as "One of the Golden Girls" She is survived by her daughters, Emma (Anslem) Thornton of Livingston and Dawn Bonin and her husband Travis of Jeanerette; her son, Glenn Broussard and his wife Julie of Jeanerette; her granddaughters, Renee' Richie and her fiancé Jared of Jeanerette, Terri Fletcher and her husband Jessie, Stacie Guitreau and her husband Richard all of Livingston and Cassie Carden and her husband Wess of Chunchula, AL; her grandsons, Jimmy Anslem and his wife Julie of New Iberia, Brandon Bonin of Jeanerette, Casy Broussard and his wife Ruth of New Iberia and Colby Broussard and his girlfriend Elizabeth of Jeanerette; twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Joseph Broussard; her father, Rudolph Aucoin; her mother, Emma Price Aucoin; her daughter, Rosalind Foco; her brothers, Lester Aucoin and Burleigh Aucoin and her son-in-law's, Alvin Foco and Jerry Thornton. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Anslem, Casy Broussard, Colby Broussard, Brandon Bonin, Travis Bonin and Jared Bonin.
