New Iberia - Memorial services will be conducted for Adam "Nooksy" Desormeaux, 84, on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 11:30 AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery. A gathering of the family will be at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. A rosary will be recited at the church at 11:00 AM. A native of Jefferson Island and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Desormeaux passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at 9:25 AM in a New Iberia nursing facility. He was a retired Driller in the Oil Field Industry and was a Desk Clerk at the Inn of Iberia for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He liked going to the horse races and loved his family especially his grand children and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Janet Bienvenu Desormeaux who was the "Wind Beneath His Wings" of New Iberia; his children, Karen Romero and her husband Mike of New Iberia, Kim Desormeaux and his wife Mary of St. Martinville and Kristi Touchet and her husband Steve of New Iberia; his brother, Carol Desormeaux of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Shaun Romero, Corey Romero and Chase Romero, Jason Desormeaux, Jamie Desormeaux Bernard, Jennifer Brown and Jesse Brown and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Desormeaux, Sr.; his mother, Edia Vice Desormeaux; his brothers, Jim Desormeaux and Bill Desormeaux, Sr. and his sister, Kelly Louviere. Pallbearer will be Shaun Romero. The family would like to express special thanks to Heritage Manor North and ICU at Lafayette General Hospital for their excellent care.
