New Iberia - A memorial service for George William Buccini will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 3:00pm at Holy Family Cemetery Chapel, 2807 Curtis Lane, with Deacon Wade Broussard as the celebrant, inurnment to follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, and resident of New Iberia, George Buccini, or "Butch" as he was known to friends and family passed away at his residence on Sunday April 12, 2015 at 2:57 pm. "Butch" enjoyed playing pool with his friends and family. He loved animals; especially his loyal dog Ruffus. He had a passion for cars and held a particular interest for antique vehicles. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. "Butch" had many friends, and loved to visit with them. He will be missed, and his memory will be cherished by many. He is survived by his daughters Malinda "Tiny" Meyers and husband Murphy of New Iberia; Theresa Gary and husband Ricky of New Iberia; Elizabeth Crum of Enterprise, MS; Grandchildren Sharon Burks of Lafayette; Sadie Lapoint and husband Blake of Youngsville; Kansas Gary of New Iberia; Bree Gary of New Iberia; Tiger Crum, Jesse Crum, and Eli Crum, all of Enterprise, MS. Great-Grandchildren include Roderick Hawkins; Ammarie Rose Hawkins, both of Lafayette; Jack Lapoint and Cohan Lapoint of Youngsville. He is preceded in death by his wife Linda Mattox Buccini; father Marco George Buccini; mother Hazel McKin Buccini; and Grandchild Tristion Burks.
