New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Doris Copeland Young, 84, on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 6:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Fuselier officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday, April 20, 2015, at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A native of Covington, NY, a resident of Youngsville and a former resident of Avery Island and Toledo Bend, Mrs. Young passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2:41 AM at her residence. She was a family oriented person and was a "Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother". Her hobbies were bowling, reading, puzzles, gardening and she loved the outdoors. She was survived by her son, Gordon Scott Young and his companion Rachel Mouton of New Iberia; her daughter, Patty Young Moreau and her husband Dennis of Thibodeaux; her sister, Della Page of Leroy, NY; her grandchildren, Bruce and Colleen Schales, Katie and Jenna Young; her sister-in-law's, Polly Childress and Wilma Richards both of Port Charlotte, FL and her brother-in-law, Carl Mote of Warsaw, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bruce Young; her parents, Clarence D. and Ethel A. Wright Copeland and her brother, Gerald Copeland.
