New Iberia- Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Floretta Ann Racca Engle, 76, on Thursday April 30, 2015 at 3:00pm at David Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dianna Delcambre to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 30, 2015 from 10:00am until 2:45pm. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, "Flo" as she was affectionately known, passed away on Monday April 27, 2015 at 12:38pm at her residence. Mrs. Engle was employed with the St. Mary Parish School Board as an elementary school teacher for 23 years. She taught 3rd thru 6th grade at Berwick Elementary and G.W. Hamilton. Upon retirement she worked as a Hostess for McDonalds. In her spare time she enjoyed playing video games, especially Tetris and Dr. Mario. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing her favorite snacks with them, Dr. Pepper and Pringle Sticks. But her main passion was reading. She was an avid reader and had mountains of books at home. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vicki Lynn Engle and significant other Clifton "Pete" Bonnet of Sorrell, William Jeffery Engle of New Iberia; grandchildren, Jacqueline Nicole "Nip" Randazzo and significant other Jorge Ruiz, Gordon Christopher Randazzo and wife Amanda, Nicolas James Engle and significant other Kristen Derise, Christian Michael Engle all of New Iberia, Brittany Nicole Charpentier of Colorado; great grandchildren, Trysten Joseph Phillips, Alysa Randazzo, Kymie Ruiz, Chloe Elizabeth Songne, Noah Christopher Randazzo, Ayden Adam Randazzo, Gabriel Thomas Randazzo all of New Iberia, one great grandchild, Leonardo James Randazzo on the way; her best friend, Joanna Gary, and Her McDonald's Family. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Alta Abshire Racca; son, Gary Wayne Engle; brother, Lenton Racca; half sisters, Lena Shartino, Opal Carr, and Ruth; longtime friend, Hazel Clark; and her four legged companion, Misty. Upholding the honor of Pallbearers will be Clifton Bonnet, Michael Bonnet, Gordon Randazzo, William Engle, Nicolas Engle, and Christian Engle.
