Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial for Rayford Paul Champagne Sr. 57, will be held Tuesday May 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father Bill Melancon Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes officiating, visitation will be held Monday May 11, 2015 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00PM and will continue Tuesday from 8:00AM until time of services. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Mausoleum.. A Native of Port Sulphur LA. and a resident of Erath Rayford was a carpenter by trade and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, will truly be missed by all who knew him, Rayford passed away Sunday May 10, 2015 at his residence. Survivors include his wife Bonnie Menard Champagne, of Erath; his daughter Crystal and her husband Jason Trahan of Lafayette; his son Rayford Jr. and his wife Tricia Champagne of Williston ND; his father Elie Champagne, Sr. of Abbeville, three brothers Larry Champagne of Erath, John Champagne of Delchambre, and Elie Champagne of Youngsville; two sisters Susan Sons, and Delana Trahan both of Erath. Rayford is also survived by his five grandchildren Blair Landry, Alec Romero, Jase Trahan, Brailey Champagne, and Mya Champagne; two step grandchildren Morgan and Emily Trahan. He was precededed in death by his Mother Audrey Lange Champagne; and one sister Rita Breaux. Serving as pall bearers will be Brian Trahan, Lane Wicks, Cary Deshotel, Drew Breaux , Tyler Monteaux, Alec Romero David Funeral Home 209 E. Putnam St. Erath (337) 937- 0405 is in charge of arrangements.
