Cynthia Derouen Prejean

March 24, 1957 — May 13, 2015

New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Cynthia Derouen Prejean, 58, on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 8:00 AM until the service time. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Prejean passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 8:05 PM in a New Iberia hospital. She was the former Store Manager at Dollar General Store in Lydia. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and spent wonderful times with her husband George. She is survived by her husband, George Prejean, Jr. of New Iberia; her father, Beverly Louis Derouen of New Iberia; her children, Douglas Close and his wife Rachael of Coteau and Misty Derouen and her fiancé Hayward Bourque of New Iberia; her step-son, Burc Prejean and his girlfriend, Tammy Boutte of Coteau; her brother, Casey Louis Derouen and his wife Tina of New Iberia; her sister, Meda Faye Stevens and her husband George of Jeanerette and her grandchildren, Caroline Close and Amelia Close both of Coteau and Chloe Close of Opelousas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Mae Autin Derouen; her son, Bobby Allen Close, her brother, Ray Anslem and her first husband, Bobby Close. Pallbearers will be George Prejean, Jr., Douglas Close, Burc Prejean, George Stevens, Jonathan Derouen and Karl Charpentier.
