Jeanerette - Funeral Services will be conducted for Larry Owen Freeman, 73, on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. A native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Freeman passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 11:20 AM at his residence. Along with his brother, he was the Owner & Operator of Freeman Veneer Company which was handed down from their father and also owned L & L Haulers, Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, camp and ride his four wheeler at his camp in Mississippi. An outdoorsman, he never wanted to be inside, he camped every weekend and enjoyed everything life had to offer. He loved spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren about camping and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Linda Martin Freeman of Jeanerette; his sons, Chad Freeman of Pearsall, TX and Josh Freeman of Jeanerette; his daughter, Nicole Sistrunk and her husband Greg of Jeanerette; his grandchildren, Brittney Porche and her husband Steven, Matthew Freeman all of Jeanerette, Hannah Hebert and her husband Corey and Micah Savoy all of Jeanerette, Caleb Sistrunk, Amanda Sistrunk and Nicholas Sistrunk all Lafayette and his first cousins who were like his brothers, Gaery Dunnam and his wife Georgia of Pascagoula, MS and Keith Dunnam and his wife Olie of Neely, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Freeman; his mother, Zelleine Byrd Freeman; his son, Zachary Freeman; his brother, Douglas Freeman, Sr. and his first cousin who was like a brother, Jimmie Dunnam. Pallbearers will be Greg Sistrunk, Micah Savoy, Mark Gaudin, Ryan Freeman, Mark Martin and Glenn Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaery Dunnam, Keith Dunnam, Trevin Freeman, Douglas Freeman, Jr. and Matthew Freeman.
