Coteau - Funeral Services for Mr. Paul "T-Paul" John Romero, 79, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 24, 2015 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette. Interment will follow at Our Lady prompt Succor Mausoleum in Coteau. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. A native and lifelong resident of Coteau Mr. Romero died at 6:50PM on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Belle Teche Nursing Home. He was employed at Teche Lumber for over 50 years and was known for his love for the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. However, above all else he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Merline Lopez Romero of Coteau; a son, Willie P. Romero and his wife Becky of Coteau; two daughters, Christine Perry and her husband Paul of New Iberia and Tina Romero and her husband Kirk of Coteau; seven grandchildren, Summer Perry, Andy Perry and his wife Blair, Joey Myers, Jennifer Myers, Rachel Allen, Monica Trivanovich and her husband Adam, and Steven Allen; and three great grandchildren, Dylan Trivanovich, Mason Evans, and one on the way, Eli Trivanovich. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Anaise Bouillion Romero; three brothers, Wilbert Romero, Wilson Romero, and Chester Romero; and four sisters, Lillian Romero, Rita Broussard, Hazel Thibodeaux, and Louella Comeaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Willie Romero, Paul Perry, Kirk Romero, Joey Myers, Steven Allen, and David Lopez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Leewood Fremin, Raymond Touchet, Nuxy Romero, and Bobby Broussard. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
