Verla Ann Gaspard Gonsoulin

New Iberia- Funeral services for Mrs. Verla Ann Gaspard Gonsoulin, age 63, will be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at the David Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30pm with Rev. Ed Downs to serve as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will begin Saturday at 11:30am until service time. A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Monroe, Mrs. Gonsoulin passed away on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 1:23pm at a New Orleans healthcare facility. She was a Homemaker, and took pride in caring for her family. As a grandmother of 15, she enjoyed babysitting and watching her grandchildren grow. She even raised one grandson, Stanley "Man" Gonsoulin III since birth, now fourteen years old. Mrs. Gonsoulin was a loving, gentle woman that was all about family and she will be missed dearly. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stanley Gonsoulin Jr. and wife Tisa of Houston, TX, Jessica Valadez and husband Aldo of Lake Charles, Ashley Gonsoulin and husband Dung Ngo of Grand Bay, AL, Kimberly Gonsoulin and husband Julio Herdenez of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; and three brothers, Paul Gaspard and wife Bambi, Ronnie Gaspard and wife Sharron, and John Gaspard and wife Ruth all of Iberia Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Stanley Gonsoulin Sr., parents, Otis Sr. and Olympia Bouque Gaspard; four brothers, Otis Gaspard Jr., Utis Gaspard, Harold Gaspard, Herman Gaspard; and three sisters, Marilyn Moneaux, Theresa Hayes, and Laura Simon. Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Christian Gonsoulin, Stanley Gonsoulin III, Thomas Valadez, Aldo Valadez, Anthony Hayes, and Julio Herdenez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanley Gonsoulin Jr. and Dung Ngo. Family and friends wishing to express condolences can sign the online guest book.
