New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Eve Braquet Castille, 80, on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 9:30 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 10:30 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 8:00 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home Sunday at 7:00 PM. Mrs. Castille passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 2:00 PM in a New Iberia hospital. Eve was born October 8, 1934 in Loreauville to Gilman Braquet, Sr. and Loraine Hodges Braquet. She was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, attended Teche Area Vocational School and worked as an LPN at Dauterive Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement. She had a passion for service to others and was non judgmental of others. She was a member of the Nurses Association. She enjoyed crocheting and yard work. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She truly enjoyed family trips and donating to children's charities. She is survived by her children, Raymond H. Castille, Jr. and his wife Jean, Bernadette Castille all of New Iberia, Gerald J. Castille of Lafayette and Christie Castille of New Iberia; her brother, Gilman Braquet, Jr. of New Iberia; her sisters, Mary Louise Vincent of Broussard and Leeann Romero of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Jennifer Stoute and her husband Andrew of Morse, Jacqueline Patton and her husband Ron of Grand Marias, Ryan Castille and his wife Roxanne of New Iberia and Nellie Castille and her companion Brock Hall of New Iberia and her great grandchildren, Braleigh Castille, Christopher Stoute, Rayna Stoute, Wesley Castille, Riley Castille and Caraghan Castille. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Raymond Castille, Sr.; her parents, Gilman J. Braquet, Sr. and Loraine Hodges Braquet and her son, Gilman J. Castille. Pallbearers will be Gerald Castille, Ryan Castille, Christopher Stoute, Wesley Castille, Leon Romero and Mary Lynn Vincent. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilman Braquet, Andrew Stoute, Ron Patton and Brock Hall.
