Loreauville - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. J. O. Neuville, Sr., the former Marie Chataignier, 92, on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Paul Onuegbe officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A native and resident of Loreauville, she died on Monday, July 06, 2015, at her residence. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM Marie was born on August 31, 1922 to Ozaine and Eula Landry Chataignier. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking meals for her family and anyone who dropped by at meal time. Marie also treated her family and friends to homemade treats such as her prize winning pralines. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing flowers from her garden with anyone who visited her home. Marie and her husband were married for 71 years and had seven children. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda N. Miguez and husband Steve; five sons, J. O. Neuville, Jr., Errol Neuville and wife, Roxanna, Lynn Neuville and wife, Adrienne, Kerry Neuville, and Darrell Neuville and wife, Leona and her brothers Charles Chataignier and his wife Elaine and Gene Chataignier, all of Loreauville. Survivors also include 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband J. O. Neuville, Sr.; one son, Ted Mark Neuville, and her parents. Her sisters Grace Robicheaux, Rose Albert, Joyce Laviolette, Eula Mae Olivier and Beverly Chataignier and brothers George, Wade, Jules and Joseph Chataignier. Pallbearers are Scott Neuville, Kelly Neuville, Jory Neuville, Dusty Neuville, Darrell Neuville, Jr., and Ridge Miguez. The family would especially like to thank Mrs. Marie's caregivers, Laura Antoine, Rose Julien, Gwen Nora, Judy Reed, and Amanda Simmons for the exceptional care and compassion given to her.
