Joseph Bares

July 13, 1937 — July 20, 2015

Erath - Funeral services for Joseph "Harris" Bares, 78, will be held Friday July 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM in David Funeral Home in Erath, with Father Bill Melancon Officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday July 23, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, and will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow in the LeBlanc Cemetery. Harris was a native and resident of Erath and was a long time member of the Bares Center in Erath. Survivors include his brother Maurice and his wife Margarita Bares of Erath; his niece Jackie Bares of Erath; his five nephews William and his wife Sarah Bares of Summerville SC, Peter Bares of Lafayette, Richard Bares of Fairfax VA, Daniel Bares of Lafayette, and James and his wife Katie of Baton Rouge. Harris was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Alphonsine Hebert Bares. Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Bares, Richard Bares, Daniel Bares, Scotty Daigle, Alex Villasenor, and Jorge Villasenor. Bares family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Bares Center and Roslin Delahoussaye Ward, and also Michael Bares. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Vermilion ARC David Funeral Home 209 E. Putnam St. Erath (337) 937-0405 is in charge of arrangements.
