Jeanerette- A Memorial Service will be held for Dewey "Jap" Daniel Derise Jr., age 71, on Friday July 31, 2015 at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. A rosary will be prayed at 2:00pm. Inurnment will be at a later date. A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Jeanerette, "Jap" as he was known by family and friends, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 6:40pm. Mr. Derise had a passion for wrestling. He was the wrester "The American Jap" in the Mid-South Wrestling Federation. He also enjoyed watching WWE on television and socializing with his family and friends. His happiest moments were those spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his daughters, Marian Landry and significant other Kevin Younghawk of New Iberia, Tonya Derise and significant other Doug Lormand of Maurice; grandchildren, Lawrence "Felix" Hebert and fiancée Crystal Proctor of Scott, Troy Hebert of Iberia Parish, Lacey Randolph and husband Bobby of St. Mary Parish; great grandchildren, Haley Richardson of Scott, Paul, John, Daniel, and Harley Randolph all of St. Mary Parish; brother, Russell Derise of New Iberia; and sister, Shirley Mickels and husband Billy of Jeanerette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Whitfield Derise; parents, Dewey Derise Sr. and Anna Aucoin Derise; step-father, Joseph Derise; brother, Donald Derise, and grandson, Jean Joseph Hebert.
