Chili passed away Wednesday July 29, 2015 in a Lafayette hospital. Rev. Chili was a native of Port Arthur, Texas but resided most of his years in Erath, LA. Rev. Chili spent the last half of his very eventful life serving the spiritual needs of the local community. He was the volunteer Chaplain for Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office for over 18 years. He also had served previously as the volunteer Chaplain for Erath Police Department, Kaplan Police Department, and the Louisiana State Police. He was currently serving as the Chaplain for Abbeville Police Department and had been so for the past 17 years. Chili spent his life leading others to Christ. From the prisons to the pulpit, he valued the price that was paid for every soul. He was the current Pastor Supply for Loreauville Baptist Church and had been so for the past 5 years. He encouraged people to live their life so that the Minister would not have to lie at their funeral. He would be honored to know that no one is going to have to lie at his. From the moment he saw that annoying light through that field, he became a beacon of light to others. A giant man with a giant heart. Until we meet again. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gale Graham of Erath, Two daughters; Patricia Frederick and husband, Dustin of Erath, Theresia Free and boyfriend, Bernell Dartez of Sabine Pass, Texas. Five grandchildren; Megan Rose, Addison Amber, Jimi Sara Kaci, Leslie Taylor Austin, and Kristina. Two great-grandchildren: Shelby and Garcie. Two brothers; Richard Graham and his wife Betty, of Texas and Frank Graham, Jr and his wife, Sonny, also of Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Austin, Sr and Georgie Anna Graham, both of Texas.
