Lafayette - A Mass of Christian burial for Janie Marie Arceneaux, will be held Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton with Father William Chambough Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 4, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM and will continue from 7:00 AM until time of services. Janie Cormier Arceneaux of Youngsville passed away at her home surrounded by her family on August 2, 2015. She was ninety years old. Janie had an indescribable love for, and devotion to, her family. Alongside her equally devoted husband of 59 years, Milton Arceneaux, she enjoyed cooking, dancing and family gatherings. In addition to being actively involved in the daily operations of the Arceneaux Dairy Farm, Janie spent her days committed to caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janie also took the time to pamper herself and spend time with her lifelong friends. She would spend each Friday morning laughing and talking with friends at Justine's Nail & Hair Salon and often go out for a Saturday night of dinner and dancing. Milton and Janie also spent countless hours in support of their special needs daughter, Renee. Together they would frequently coordinate fundraisers for both the New Hope Center and Southwest State School. With her passing, Janie has achieved the ultimate goal to which we all strive in our lifetime. She has positively touched the lives of her family, friends and all of those around her. In doing so, she has passed on the legacy of kindness, determination, commitment and the loving compassion that only a Matriarch can provide. She is survived by her husband Milton J. Arceneaux of Youngsville; her children Delores Chaumont of Youngsville, Terry Chaumont and his wife Linda of El Paso Tx., Dennis Chaumont and his wife Beverly of Edmond OK, Pam Arceneaux of Youngsville, Jackie Pfaff and her husband Alan of Flower Mound TX, Renee Arceneaux of Jennings, and Rebecca Bares and her husband Stephen of Youngsville, her grandchildren Kayla Lucas, Kirby Gaspard, Ashleigh Wray, Kari Harper, Cammie Chaumont Menendez, Stephanie Watson,Terry John Chaumont, Aaron Chaumont, Claire Troung, Michael Chaumont, Alan Pfaff II, Katherine Pfaff, Janey Bares, Laura Bares, Ross Bares, and Caroline Bares; and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Leurline Trahan of Lake Arthur, C.J. Richard and his wife Geneva of Lake Charles, and Carrie Conner. Mrs. Arceneaux is preceded in death by her parents Adonice and Eva Vincent Cormier; her son Ervin Anthony Arceneaux, two grandsons Ervin Gaspard, and Clay Chaumont; her brother Euclid Cormier and her son in law Kirby Gaspard. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Terry John Chaumont, Aaron Chaumont, Alan Pfaff II, Ross Bares, Nicholas Lucas, and Todd Lucas; honarary pallberaers will be C.J. Richard brother, son in laws Stephen Bares, and Alan Pfaff, great grandsons Ryan Chaumont, Colin Chaumont, Chandler Wray, Thomas Chaumont, Andrew Troung, and Kendall Gaspard. Special thanks go out to her caregiver, Gina Johnson and Hospice Nurses, Desiree Derouen and Amanda Melancon.
