Jeanerette-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Elsie Bolner Edley, age 90, on Saturday August 8, 2015 at 9:00am at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday August 7, 2015 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 7:30am until service time. Mrs. Edley passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 1:05am at Iberia Manor South. She had been a resident of New Iberia Manor South for several years. Elsie was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 21, 1924 to Joseph Allen and Elva Jeansonne Bolner. She moved to Jeanerette with her family in 1932 where her father owned Bolner's Grocery until 1965. She attended St. Joseph School all of her school years graduating in 1941. She attended ULL (then SLI) and Spencer Business College. Elsie enjoyed playing pokeno, sewing clothes and spending time in the Adoration Chapel before the Blessed Sacrament. Elsie worked for the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce for several years. In 1948 she married the late James Hays Edley. They were married for 56 years and had 5 Children. She is survived by Catherine Edley of Youngsville, John Edley and wife Martha of New Iberia, Allen Edley and wife Mary of Jeanerette, Mary Lynn Krauss and husband Ted of Dallas Texas, and Virgina Edley of Denver, Colorado; grandsons; Jeffery Edley and wife Erica of Houston, Texas, Jamie Edley and wife Christina of New Iberia, Liam Hill of Sparks, Nevada, Barry Montana of New Iberia, Michael Montana and wife Jennifer of USAF, and Jacob Montana of Jeanerette, granddaughters; Lisa Krauss of Baltimore, Maryland, Alison Krauss of Dallas, Texas, Mary Edley Moore and husband Bradley of Broussard, Joyce Hill of Lafayette, Beth Stein and husband Scott of Opelousas, great grandsons; Bronson Edley, Cohen Edley, Hayden Montana, Joshua Montana and Jackson Montana, great granddaughters, Madelyn Moore and Audrey Moore, two sisters; Pat B. Greenwood and Ann B. Patout both of New Iberia. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband James Hays Edley, and her parents Joseph Allen Bolner and Mary "Elva" Jeansonne Bolner. Serving as Pallbearers; Allen Edley, John Edley, Ted Krauss, Bradley Moore, Mary Lynn Krauss, Virgina Edley and Catherine Edley. Her greatest love on earth next to God was her family. She devoted her life to their welfare and being there for them whenever they needed her.
