Mary Jeanminette Destouet

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Mary Augustine Jeanminette Destouet, 92, on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Thomas Vu to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Edward Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 8:00 AM and conclude at 10:30 AM with a recitation of the rosary at 9:00 AM. A native of Grand Marais, a resident of Kingwood, TX and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Destouet passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 2:00 AM in Kingwood, TX. She volunteered at St. Francis Diner and at the Disch - Declouet Service Center and was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Judy Destouet and her husband W. William Wilson, Sr. of Hunt Valley, MD, Dr. Katie D. Salas and her husband Armando V. Salas of League City, TX, Connie M. Destouet of Spring, TX, Lenora Jagneaux and her husband Johnny of Lead Hill, AK and Kathy Piatt and her husband Michael of Corpus Christi, TX; her sons, Albert E. Destouet, Jr. and his wife Gwendolyn B. of Houston, TX and Steven J. Destouet and his wife Helen of New Iberia; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Earl Destouet, Sr.; her father, Eugene Jeanminette; her mother, Margaret Ozenne Jeanminette; her brothers, Howard, Francis and Joseph Jeanminette and her sisters, Isabella Boutte, Octavia Broussard, Mable Olivier and Rita Jeanminette. Pallbearers will be Steven Destouet, Matthew Destouet, Vance Jolivette, Timothy Jagneaux, Walter W. Wilson, Jr., Steven Jagneaux and Christopher Salas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Destouet's honor to a charity of your choice.
