Youngsville - Memorial Services for Robert Bernard Schmitz, 89, will be held at a later date. A native of Foxholm, ND and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Schmitz died at 8:15AM on Friday, August 28, 2015 at a local nursing home. He is survived by a son, Robert B. Smith and his wife Terry of Bakersfield, CA; a daughter, Debra McConkey and husband Larry of Youngsville; a sister, Lois Banna; five grandchildren, Becky Vessel, Stacey Conrad, Heather Ward, Ryan McConkey, and Sean Smith; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mathilda Roggenbuck Schmitz; and a sister, Alice Gerle. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
