Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Dawn Ann Boudreaux Rawlins, 48, on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. Helen Cemetery in Louisa. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. A native of New Iberia and resident of Glenco, Mrs. Dawn passed away after a battle with cancer on September 13, 2015 at 8:57 AM at Oschner's Medical Center in New Orleans with her family by her side. Dawn worked at Cypress Bayou Casino and Twin Brothers Marine for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved going fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, watching the Saints play football and having family gatherings. Dawn valued family as her highest accomplishment. She was a very kind and loving soul, often putting others before herself. Always first to volunteer to help others in their time of need. Those who crossed paths with Dawn, were truly blessed for having to have known her. Her kind, gentle ways and her big heart will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Mrs. Dawn Rawlins is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jimmy A. Rawlins of Glenco; her daughters, Ashley and her husband Herman Jones, Sr. of Patterson and Kayla Rawlins of Glenco; her sons, Jimmy E. Rawlins and his companion Dusti Duhon of Delcambre and Nicholas and wife Amanda Rawlins of Mire; her brothers, Shawn Boudreaux of Glenco, Troy and his wife Dana Boudreaux of Carencro and Keith and his wife Lori Dore of New Iberia; her sisters, Cathy Raymond and her companion Robbie Charles of New Iberia and Rhonda Crochet of Corpus Christi, TX; eight grandchildren, Heather, Herman, Jr. and Ethan Jones, Emma Rawlins, Anna Belle Simon, Madisyn, Kaitlynn and Bently Rawlins; a very close friend of the family, Dennis Maxie of Glenco; many family members and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and LouAnna Gary Boudreaux; her mother-in-law, Anna Lee Rawlins and her father-in-law, Benjamin Rawlins, Sr. Upholding the honor of pallbearers are Jimmy E.
