LoreauvilleFuneral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 19, 2015 for Joyce Marie Landry, 83, at David Funeral Home in Loreauville with visitation on Saturday, September, 19, 2015 from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Loreauville, Mrs. Landry passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 11:45 PM at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a 27 month battle with pancreatic cancer and continued to live a memorable life for 26 of those 27 months. She was born on July 15, 1932, in New Iberia to Lionel and Eunice (Landry) Landry. She loved to read and travel. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Landry was deeply devoted to the Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos and made many pilgrimages to his national shrine in New Orleans. Her family will miss her constant words of encouragement in difficult situations. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bonin Boutte and husband, Lennes Boutte of New Iberia; son, Barrett Bonin of Lafayette and daughter, Kathleen Bonin of Lafayette and Rebecca Moreland Dacovich, whom she loved like a daughter, and her husband, Ellis Dacovich of Mobile, Alabama; five grandsons, Blaze Boutte of New Iberia, Blake Boutte and his fiancée Melissa Babler of Farmington, MN, Barrett Boutte and his wife Brittany Gonsoulin Boutte of New Iberia, Barrett Bonin II of Lafayette and Brandon Bonin of Lafayette; four great grandchildren, Emilie Bonin of Youngsville, Landon Bonin of Houma, Brylee Boutte and Brinkley Boutte of New Iberia; sister, Ruth Freyou and her husband, Harold Freyou, of New Iberia; sister-in-law Janet Landry of New Iberia, and a host of nieces and nephews from the Landry, Bonin, Freyou, Parent, and Duhon families. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy "Bill" Bonin; parents, Lionel and Eunice Landry; brothers, Charles Landry, Gerald Landry and his wife, Shirley Primeaux Landry; daughter-in-law, Angela Freese Bonin, and her lifelong friends, Louella Lancon of New Iberia and Ramona Lege of Orange, TX. The family is eternally grateful for the compassionate and devoted care given to her by Dr. Douglas Sagrera for the past 50 years. Also a debt of gratitude to Dr. Luis Meza and his wife, Teresa Meza of Lafayette, her team of doctors and support staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Fr. Richard Greene of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Iberia, family friend Gene Vincent, the staff of Dr. Douglas Sagrera, and her team of caregivers from Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care which includes John Richard RN, Kristin Knight RN, Kramer McDaniel MSW, Lynette Thomas, Patrick Braquet, and Edna Richardson, and to her daughter, Kathleen Bonin, for the loving care she gave to her mother for all of the months after she was diagnosed with her illness. Serving as pallbearers will be Blaze Boutte, Blake Boutte, Barrett Boutte, Brandon Bonin, Todd Landry, and Kerry Freyou, Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Barrett Bonin II, Harold Freyou, Ty Landry, and Brodie Landry, Marty Freyou, and Toby Landry.
