New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Huey Joseph Quibodeaux, age 85, on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 2:00pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Garrett Savoie officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Graveside Honors by the United States Army and New Iberia Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 2:00pm until 9:00pm, with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday morning at 9:00am and will continue until the time of service. A native of Ridge and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Quibodeaux passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 3:05pm in a local nursing home. Huey was born August 4, 1930 in Ridge, La, Lafayette Parish to the late Philibert and Neola Leger Quibodeaux. Huey served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He moved from Crowley while he worked in the oil field, then moved to New Iberia and worked as a welder foreman until his retirement. He loved to get together with family and friends; he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Huey loved to bar-be-cue and he often would cook for his co-workers. He loved to dance, go to the casinos, he also spent many years traveling and camping. He loved to work in his yard, and enjoyed all life had to offer. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Rita Broussard Quibodeaux of New Iberia, sons, Michael H. Quibodeaux and wife Adele of St. Martinville, Philip J. Quibodeaux of Lafayette; daughter, Bettina A. Quibodeaux Gulotta and husband Eric of Prairieville; grandchildren, Chad M. Quibodeaux and wife Kalie of Avery Island, Blake J. Quibodeaux of Youngsville, Jennifer L. Quibodeaux Broussard and husband Rustin of Youngsville, Ashley Daigle and husband Tyler, Kimberly Berzoza and husband Luis; Brittany Gulotta; and Brennan Gulotta, all of Prairieville. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Philibert Quibodeaux; mother, Neola Leger Quibodeaux; brother, John H. Quibodeaux; sister, Dorothy Daigle; and brother, Wilbert Quibodeaux. Those upholding the honor of Pallbearer include Chad Quibodeaux, Blake Quibodeaux, Rustin Broussard, Eric Gulotta, Tyler Daigle, and Brennan Gulotta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Quibodeaux, Philip Quibodeaux, Rusty Broussard, and Bobby Broussard.
