A native of Acadia Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Landry passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 12:45 am. Mrs. Landry was an exceptional mother and grandmother. She was well known for her cooking, especially her rice and gravy, gumbo, and cornbread dressing. Her chicken fricassee was out of this world and was only made for special visitors. She loved sitting on her porch and enjoying nature, especially the hummingbirds. Spending time with family was dear to her, as was her "coffee club". Being quite a social woman, she would often play bourré or spend time at the casino with her friends. She was loved dearly by those who knew her, and her sassy spirit will be missed. She is survived by her husband of fifty nine years, Dudley J. Landry; her sons Paul A. Landry, Patrick J. Landry and wife Lisa; daughter, Pamela Jane Lenoir and husband Bruno, all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Seth Landry and wife Malerie of Loreauville, Nick Landry and fiancée Danielle Vice of New Iberia, Samantha Landry and companion Cody Segura of New Iberia, Stephen Lambert and wife Amanda of Addis, Amanda Guilbeaux and Husband Kyle James of Cade, Lisa Lenoir and fiancé Jake Burgardt of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, Brielle and Connor Landry both of Loreauville, Charlie Jane and Memphis Guilbeaux both of Cade; sisters-in-law, Leeanna Landry and Betty Schexnayder both of Abbeville; brother-in-law, Roy Broussard of Lafayette; and godchildren, Murphy Abshire of Texas; Chad Leger of Youngsville; and Sandy Touchet of Forket Island. She is preceded in death by her father, Adonis Hanks; mother, Ida Bourque Hanks; sisters, Odelia Schexnayder; Durthy Lelux; Dorothy Abshire; granddaughter, Sara Lambert; and godchild, Linda Perry. Upholding the Honor of Pallbearers will be Bruno Lenoir, Nick Landry, Seth Landry, Stephen Lambert, Kyle Guilbeaux, Jake Burgardt, Cody Segura, and Wendell Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers include Amanda Guilbeaux, Lisa Lenoir, Samantha Landry, and Edward Harrington. The family would like to extend their loving gratitude to Hospice Compasses, Belle Teche Nursing Facility, Patricia Bourgeois, AAA Home Health, and Gretchen Mitchell of Southern Belle's Salon for their care and compassion shown to their mother.
