Lafayette - A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Dorothy Dagnall, 95, of Broussard will be held at White Dove Church, 1400 West University, Lafayette, LA on Sunday October 25th, 2015 at 1:30PM with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Ms. Dorothy passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center on Thursday October 22nd, 2015. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on July 1, 1920. Dorothy worked as a teacher but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved to cook and work in her garden some of her more memorable dishes were Shephard's Pie, Date Squares, Oat Cakes, Mince Tarts and Yorkshire pudding. But her passion was her children and her grandchildren. She always loved visiting Louisiana, staying for months at a time. Once her husband Harry passed away in 1998 she migrated south never to return to the Great White North. While she was "Down South" she was an active member of White Dove Fellowship church, first in Harvey, LA then in Lafayette. Now she has migrated again but this time she has migrated upwards to our Father's arms. She will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on. She is survived by her daughter, Dona Duhon and husband Peter of Broussard and Brenda McClarty and husband Roy of Carrollton TX; 5 grandchildren, Luscia Silva and husband Rene', Sarah Duhon, Andrew Duhon and wife Lyndi, Grace Duhon and Benjamin Duhon all of Broussard; a great-grandchild Elaine Victoria Silva of Broussard; and a twin sister Daisy Backmier of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry William Dagnall; and her parents, George Sargeant and Daisy Fry Sargeant.
