Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice Boudreaux Gerard, 85, will be 11:00AM Saturday October 31, 2015 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton with Rev. William Schambough officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday October 30, 2015 in David Funeral Home of Lafayette from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday October 31, 2015 from 8:00AM until time of service. Bernice was born July 5, 1930 in Youngsville and passed away Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette. She began her teaching career at the Indian Reservation in Elton, then moved on to Duson, Youngsville and Milton, retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. She graduated in 1950 from SLI later known as ULL. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for many years. Gerard of Milton and Angela G. Luman of Scott; Her Brother Roy Boudreaux and wife Jeanette of Lafayette and Sister Leline Gerard of Youngsville; 3 Grandsons, John Lee Gerard, Jr. of Milton, Zachary Gerard of Broussard and Randall Gerard of Milton. 3 Granddaughters, Erin Gerard and Rachel Gerard both of Clemson, SC. and Ashley Luman of Scott. 2 Great-Grandsons, Cooper Gerard and Keegan Gardner both of Youngsville. She is preceded in death by her Husband Willis J. Gerard; her Parents Paul and Ozite Boudreaux; a Brother, John Earl Boudreaux and a Sister, Hazel Pellerin. Serving as her Pallbearers will be Ronald Gerard, Kirk Broussard, Zac Gerard, Johnny Gerard, Cooper Gerard and Eddie Gerard. Serving as Honorary Pallbeareres will be Keegan Gardner, Steve Gerard, Randall Gerard and Roy Boudreaux.
