New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Lorena Escagne Dees, 72, on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 12:00 PM at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Father Bill Melancon officiating. Burial will follow in the Broussard Cemetery on Migues Road. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 8:00 AM until 11:15 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM. A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dees passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 9:48 PM in a Jeanerette nursing facility. She retired from Duffy's Diner as the Head Cook after 14 years of employment. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and going to the casino with her close friends, "The Golden Girls". She was a devoted parishioner at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella and a member of "Come Lord Jesus". She is survived by her children, Arthur Dees and his wife Andrea, Dale Dees and his wife Rebecca and Angel Dees and her husband Ricky all of New Iberia; her sister, Dorothy Escagne Melancon of New Iberia; her brother, Johnny Escagne of Carlsbad, New Mexico; her grandchildren, Amber Dees, Blaine Dees, Mandy Delcambre, Scott Dees, Staci Delcambre, Heather Dees, Kimberly Dees, Cassie Dees, Derick Delcambre, Christopher Dees and Steven Dees; her step-grandchild, Lauren LeBlanc and 14 adorable great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Richard Leroy Dees; her father, Adolph Escagne; her mother, Edna Desormeaux Escagne and her brothers, Jules Escagne and William Escagne. Pallbearers will be Blaine Dees, Scott Dees, Derick Delcambre, Christopher Dees, Steven Dees and Max Buteaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Escogne, Arthur Dees, Dale Dees, Ricky Delcambre, Rene Melancon, Billy Dees, Bot Buteaux and Roy Melancon.
