A native of Eunice and resident of Loreauville, “D.J.” as he was affectionately known, passed away on Monday November 16, 2015 at 3:12pm. Dana had a love for sports like no other; He loved his Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers. Any stat you needed to know he could tell you in an instant. He enjoyed golfing every other weekend with his brothers and fishing with his Father-in-law. But his greatest love, a tremendous love, was his family. He showed that every day by his actions. He was a great father, husband, friend, and never met a stranger that he wouldn’t have a positive effect on. And he will be missed greatly by all that got the privilege to know him. He is gone but not forgotten.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Kim Morris Amy of Loreauville; son, Nicholas James Amy of Loreauville; daughter, Alyssa Kristin Amy of Loreauville; siblings, Kayla Amy of New Iberia, Tanya Joubert of Eunice, Mark Amy and wife Leslie, Troy Amy and wife Keyna, and Jason Amy all of New Iberia; in-laws, Lawless “Dozzie” and Jeanette Morris of New Iberia; sister in law Kellie Daigre and husband William of Thibodaux; nephew, Blaine Daigre, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Velton and Ruth Darbonne Amy.
Upholding the honor of pallbearers are Mark Amy, Troy Amy, Jason Amy, Bo Amy, Colby Hebert, Cameron Hebert, and Trevor Amy.
