Junius "Junior" Melancon, Jr.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 11:00 AM until Sunday, November 22, 2015, at 12:00 PM. The funeral home will remain open all night. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Saturday at 7:00 PM.
A native of Abbeville and a resident of Coteau, Junius passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 9:00 AM in Youngsville.
He was employed with Halliburton for 31 years. He loved camping, fishing, gardening, football and was a member of Krazy Kajun Campers.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janice Thibodeaux Melancon of Coteau; his daughter, Jill M. Melancon of New Iberia; his son, Justin Melancon and his wife Keeley of Youngsville; his granddaughter, Stella Grace Melancon of Youngsville; his brothers, Rudy Melancon and his wife Mary and Randy Melancon and his wife Angela all of New Iberia; his sister-in-law, Laura Melancon of Lafayette and his pet, “Scooter” AKA Spider Melancon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Junius Melancon, Sr.; his mother, Una Maturin Melancon; his brother, Larry Dean Melancon; his maternal grandparents, Avery and Laura Maturin and his paternal grandparents, Sylvan and Aline Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Justin Melancon, Charles Bryan, Chris Melancon, Troy Melancon, Nicholas Melancon, Logan Melancon and Brody Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas LeBlanc, Tommy Ransonet, Michael Bryan, Marty Trahan, Joshua Melancon, Glenn Guillotte and Jason Hollis.
