Edmond "Ned" Legge

Lydia--Edmond (Ned) Calvin Legge resident of Lydia, Louisiana passed away peacefully November 25, 2015 at the age 70. Ned was born November 13, 1945 in Heatherton Newfoundland to Tolbert and Grace Legge, he was the 5th born in a family of 11 children.
Ned was raised in Heatherton until the young age of 18 when he decided to leave home to become an underground miner. His career took him and his family all over the world and throughout the United States. He worked at the Cote Blanche Mine in Louisiana prior to his retirement in 2014. He loved to go fishing and work on projects around the home. Ned had a zest for life and touched many around him with his generosity and spirit; he could light a room by simply walking in. The friends he leaves behind are measured in the thousands.
He leaves behind his wife Barbara, children Gloria (Harold Gudmundsen), Grace (Michael Kuck), Andrew (Tegan) and step-children Scott Krammer, David Meche and Ryan Meche. Grandchildren include Drew, Cheryl, Grace, Walter, Harold, Kasey, Jessie, Cammie, Michael, Matthew, Nessie, Emmett, Davi, Joshua, Mekenzie, Kane, and Miles ; great grandchildren include Emma, Brooklyn, Riley, Karessa , Reece and Sawyer.
Surviving siblings include George (Ruby), Larry (Verna), Donald (Christine), Kevin (Dianne), and Sean (Alma), Lillian (Michael Dietrich), Gloria (Scott LeDrew) and Rosemary LeFresne.
Predeceased by his father Tolbert Legge, mother Grace (Nee Butt) Legge and his brothers, Dean and Danny and brother-in-law, David LeFresne.
Although no funeral services will be held, a celebration of life will be held in Heatherton Newfoundland sometime next spring.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Lafayette General Hospital for their kindness and loving care given to Ned and shown to the Family.
