Elizabeth Broussard

Maurice - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January, 9, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, LA for Elizabeth Broussard, 56, who passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Reverend William Shambough, pastor of St. Joseph, will conduct the services.

Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a Rosary recited at 9:30am. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

A native of Tomales, CA, Liz truly embraced the lifestyle of southern Louisiana after moving here in 1981. Never one to be far in spirit from her parents, siblings and friends left behind, she was in constant contact with all through correspondence and trips back home. A terrific "Cajun" cook and a voracious reader of mystery novels, she was at peace in the countryside of Maurice, Louisiana. Due to her caring and loving heart, she spent a small fortune on birthday cards, thank you notes, etc., never forgetting to acknowledge all who were dear to her. She will be fondly remembered by all.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Marc; her son, Colin and his girlfriend Ruth; her mother Alice; her sisters: Anne Ellis (Frank), Denise Korte (Doug), Maryellen Osmer (Neil), Laura Gore (Michael) and Patricia Grinnell (Sean); her brothers: Michael and Brian (Shelley); and numerous nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Redding and her grandparents, Roy and Mammola Fairbanks.

The family would like thank the staff and nurses of St Joseph Hospice for her care and comfort during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to St Joseph Hospice, 923 West Pinhook Rd, Lafayette La 70503
