Mary Lou Touchet Delahoussaye

January 10, 1937 — January 16, 2016

Coteau – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Minos J. Delahoussaye the former Mary Lou Touchet, 79, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Our Lady Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 8:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Youngsville and a resident of Coteau, Mrs. Delahoussaye died 9:33PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her residence.  Mrs. Delahoussaye and her husband were farmers and she would cook for the hired help.  She enjoyed horse racing having worked with race horse as a girl with her father who owned a country track, then with her husband who also trained and raced horses.  She also worked at Solieau Canning.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Minos J. Delahoussaye of Coteau; a son, Darrel J. Delahoussaye and his wife Mitzi of Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Gail D. Bodin of Coteau and Brenda D. Champagne and her husband Nick of Coteau; six grandchildren, Heath Champagne, Jason Champagne, George Bodin, Bryce Bodin, Paige Delahoussaye, and Kylie Smith and her husband Matt; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Shirley Louviere and his wife Anna Lee of Coteau, Raymond Touchet and his wife Betty of Coteau, and Cerman Touchet of Coteau; a sister, Leona T. Bonin and her husband Roger of Coteau; and two sister in laws, Aldret Guillotte and her husband Adrian and Ruby Nell Delahoussaye.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Louisiana Bourque Touchet.


Serving as pallbearers will be Heath Champagne, Jason Champagne, Bryce Bodin, George Bodin, Roger Bonin, and Donald Guillotte.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Concepts of Care and Heart of Hospice for the special care they gave Mrs. Delahoussaye.
