Kevin B. "Bonk" Meaux

Abbeville -- A Catholic Mass will be held in memory of Kevin "Bonk" Meaux, 50, on Thursday, Fevruary 04, 2016 at 1:00PM. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Fr. Gregory Cormier to serve as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow at the St. Mary Magdelan Cemetary located behind Vermilion Catholic School.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Abbeville on Wednesday, February 03, 2016 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 04, 2016 from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of Abbeville, Kevin passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 7:30PM at his home.

A pipeline welder by trade, he enjoyed traveling the United States. He workd hard and played harder. Kevin loved the outdooors. He was an avid deer, duck, and goose hunter. His favorite color--Anything CAMO! He also had a deep connection with animals. Many will remember his love for horses. In his younger years, Kevin competed in many rodeos, bareback riding and bull riding were his specialty.This love also found him on many trail rides.

He is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Ann Meaux of Abbeville; brother, Wayne Meaux of New Iberia; a sister, Francine Elliott of Many; and Gabrielle's Mother, Melissa Bourque of Abbeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis E. and Jeanette Arpin Meaux.

Upholding the honor of pallbearers are Colby Durke, Aaron Durke, Danny Jones, Bubba Primeaux, Kenneth Pommier, and Dillon Elliot. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Choate, Rodney Broussard, and Larry Baudoin.

The family would like to extend a special thanks and their deepest love to Kevin's amazing caregivers for their kind and compassionate care.
