Dorothy Verret
June 11, 1935 — February 6, 2016
Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 8:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
A resident of Lydia, Mrs. Verret passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 11:53 AM in the home of her daughter.
She was retired from Morton Salt Mine. She loved playing Bouree’ and camping and loved family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Olivier and her husband Gerard of Grand Marais; granddaughter, Melissa Shoalmire and her husband Ryan of New Iberia; grandson, Gerrit “T-Blue”Landry and his wife Katie of Patoutville, David Boudreaux of Lydia and two great granddaughters, Faith Landry of Patoutville and Carrie Boudreaux of Youngsville. She is also survived by her step-children, Danny Verret and his wife Janice of Lydia, Wayne, David and Wendy Verret; her sister-in-law, Loue Lopez; her grandson, Devin Verret of Lydia and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and her little companion FeFe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Verret; Her parents, Honora and Alvina Boudreaux Lopez; her brothers, Willie, Minus, Simmon, Burney, Paul and Dudley Lopez; her sisters, Miki Bourque, Theresa Romero, Nita Romero and her son, Barry Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Gerrit Landry, David Boudreaux, Ryan Shoalmire, Devin Verret, Danny Verret and David Verret.
