Pauline Elizabeth Bray Gibbons
June 28, 1928 — February 10, 2016
Visitation will begin at First Baptist Church of Jeanerette on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00AM until 12:45PM.
A native of Dumas, TX. and longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Gibbons passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 4:53PM at a local nursing facility. “Mamaw” as she was affectionately known, enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved watching sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Mrs. Gibbons also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made clothes for her family. She will be remembered as a kind, sweet, and talkative woman.
She is survived by her Husband of 67+ years, Jackie Preston Gibbons of Jeanerette; Son, Cletus Preston Gibbons and wife Jenny of Jeanerette; Daughters, Paula Newman and husband Ronald of Carencro, Jacqueline Colletti and husband Joe Jr. of Poland, OH; Grandchildren, Coby Preston Gibbons and wife Sheryl of Youngsville, Kellie Broussard and husband Dave of Broussard, Jennifer Ewing and husband Jude of Lafayette, Joe Colletti III and wife Lauren of Spring, TX,, Bradley Newman and wife Amber of Carencro, and Kay Torres and husband Eddie of Poland, OH; Brother, Charles Bray of Lubbock, TX; Sister, Berna Deen Lindsey and husband Roy of Mount Arlington, NJ; and 11 Great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Father, William Bowden Bray, Sr.; Mother, Bonnie Bell Alford Bray; Son, Gary Lee Gibbons; Brother, William Bowden Bray Jr.; and Sisters, Ruth Bray Brooks and Francis Bray Stevens.
Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Joe Colletti III, Zachary Gibbons, Jayden Broussard, Coby Gibbons, Bradley Newman, and Charles Bray.
The family would like to thank the Maison Teche Nursing Home Staff and Bridgeway Hospice for all of the care and compassion given to Mrs. Gibbons.
