New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Raymond Joseph Landry Jr., age 50, on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Mario Romero to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM by the Men’s Rosary Group. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 8:00AM until service time.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Raymond passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at a Houston hospital. Raymond was an outdoorsman through and through. The only thing he loved more than hunting and fishing was his family, especially his grandchildren. Raymond always had a positive attitude and was never without a smile on his face.
Raymond was a man with a big heart, enjoyed giving, and loved helping people. Many of his own projects went unfinished because of his want to help others. He was never in a hurry, and always took his time with everything and everyone. Known for always put everyone’s needs before his own, Raymond will be sadly missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory is his Wife, Constance "Connie" Landry of New Iberia; Mother, Shirley Dooley Landry of New Iberia; Daughter, Haley Landry and companion Jake Hebert of Loreauville; Son, Tyler Landry and companion Crystal Steele of New Iberia; Grandchildren, Destina Synder , Evan Hebert, Tobie Ray Landry, and Emilee Landry; Seven Sisters; Kathleen May and husband Ronald, Elaine Hebert, Karen Romero and husband Durke, Melissa Armand and husband Larry, all of New Iberia, Janet Hebert and husband Drew of St. Martinville, Wendy Lopez and husband David of Jeanerette, Jenny Menard and husband Chad of Broussard; Five Brothers, David Wayne Landry Sr., Dale Landry and wife Pansy, Chad Landry and wife Rachel, Jason Landry and wife Kim, and Todd Landry and wife Mackenzie, all of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Raymond Joseph Landry Sr.; Brother, Kevin Landry; and Mother-in-law, Maria Kanauas Broussard; Niece, Jamie Lynn Hebert; and Nephew, Shane Michael Hebert.
Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Tyler Landry, David Landry Sr., Dale Landry, Chad Landry, Jason Landry, Todd Landry, Drew Hebert, and Ronald May. Honorary Pallbearers will be Durke Romero, Chad Menard, Casey Bourque, Jeremy Madise, Coty Landry, Jake Hebert, Braiden Antoine, and Kamrin Landry.
As a man who always gave, his final gift was the gift of life as an organ donor.
