Mary “Sis” Boudreaux, 88 years young, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Memorial Herman Katy Hospital, in Katy, Texas following a brief illness.
Three words that would describe Sis were Love, Laughter and Family. She was a loving housewife, mother (and father when necessary) all of her children’s lives. She occasionally worked outside the home at The Daily Iberian Newspaper Office, GSRI Research Center and Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rectory. When she was retired, she volunteered at the New Iberia Council of Aging and later benefited from their programs dedicated to the elderly. The family requests memorials to the New Iberia Council of Aging. Their main focus is to meet the needs of the Iberia Parish elderly citizens. The largest activities are related to the transportation and nutrition services.
Sis loved to laugh, enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, cold beer and boiled crabs (she always said she could eat 13 on a dozen!).
She was the last surviving sibling of her family and leaves behind the following family members, her eldest daughter, LaDonna Boudreaux Simoneaux and husband Leonard Simoneaux, Jr. of Katy, Texas, her son, John Boudreaux and wife Sandra Meche Boudreaux of Church Point, LA and her youngest daughter,Rhnanda McGehee and husband Chris “Spanky” McGehee of Katy, Texas; her grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Pyles and husband Jerry Wayne Pyles of Cypress, Texas, Brett Michael Boudreaux, Claire Lynn Boudreaux both of Church Point, LA, Aubrey Claire McGehee and Arlen McGehee both of Katy, Texas and her great grandchildren, Brenah Devon Pyles and Evan Wayne Pyles both of Cypress, Texas.
She leaves behind many friends and family members.
