Sylvia Boudreaux Thibodeaux
September 16, 1938 — March 2, 2016
10:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 PM.
Mrs. Thibodeaux passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 10:05 PM at her residence.
She was born and raised in Houma, LA and graduated Terrebonne High School in 1956 and was married in 1961.
She owned and operated Iberia Sewing Center for 40 years with her husband. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was an adorer of the Adoration Chapel from the very beginning.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, going to the casino and spending time with her siblings. Sylvia was first and foremost a mother with boundless love for her children. She devoted her life to create a secure and loving home for her husband and four children. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were cherished with great warmth and enthusiasm. It was therefore entirely fitting that Sylvia passed away most peacefully in the bosom of her home surrounded by her precious family.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Horace Thibodeaux of Loreauville; her children, Darren Thibodeaux and his wife Julaine of Lafayette, Dawn Boudreaux and her husband Mitch of New Iberia, Michele Romero and her husband Mayo and Tracey Angelle and her husband Andrew all of Loreauville; her grandchildren, Britni Boudreaux Aucoin and her husband Stephen, Malorie and Jacob Thibodeaux, Brandon , Morgan and Lauren Boudreaux, Broc Romero, Austin and Anna Angelle; her great grandchildren, Rylee and Grant Aucoin; her siblings, Gloria Domangue, Ralph Boudreaux, Elizabeth Adair, Jessie Boudreaux and Joyce Theriot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sophie Brien Boudreaux and her sister, Madeline Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Darren Thibodeaux, Mitch Boudreaux, Mayo Romero, Andrew Angelle, Jacob Thibodeaux, Brandon Boudreaux, Broc Romero and Austin Angelle.
Honorary pallbearer will be Stephen Aucoin.
The family would like to thanks Nursing Specialties Hospice, her special niece, Becky Domangue Kramer for always being a compassionate listener, Dr. McBurney and Dr. Ditch and Staff.
