New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Melba Vice Peltier, age 84, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:00AM at David Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia with Father Steve LeBlanc to serve as the Celebrant. Readers will be Samantha E. Peltier, Anna V. Babineaux and Shawn R. Primeaux. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A native of Abbeville, resident of Broussard, and former longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Peltier passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 9:58 AM at a Broussard Assisted Living Facility.
Mrs. Peltier was a wonderful and devoted mom, grandmother, wife and sister. She was a wonderful cook, lover of children and all animals. She spent most of her adult life babysitting. Melba also loved the numerous dogs and cats she took in all her life. She was active with the Humane Society and Animal Rescue in New Iberia.
Left to cherish her memory is her Son, Byron Peltier and wife Kris of Lafayette; Grandchildren, Kyle Peltier of La Mesa, CA, Samantha Peltier of La Mesa, CA, and Hailee Peltier and fiancé Blake Stonicher of Lafayette; and two Sisters, Mary "Ruby" Kolb of New Iberia, Georgie V. "Jo" Richard of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Edward Peltier; Father, Joseph Adam Vice; Mother, Annette Louviere Vice; Son, Edward Corey Peltier; Brother, Manson Vice; and Sister, Lula Mae Hoag.
Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Dean Dugas, Justin Gilmore, Corey Martin, Keith Martin, Blake Stonicher, & Graying Vice. Honorary pallbearers will be Braylon Prioux & Robert Reed.
The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and staff at Camelot of Broussard of all of their care and compassion.
