Tamie Desormeaux Lopez

Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Tamie Desormeaux Lopez, age 58, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at  2:00PM at St. John Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux to serve as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00AM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Tamie Desormeaux Lopez passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 7:55AM at a Lafayette hospital.

Mrs. Lopez was all about family, they were her hobby and her life. She was such a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her famous quote to her children was always, “I love you more”.  To know Mrs. Lopez was to love her. There was no one that didn’t like her, and everyone that met her fell in love with her.  Mrs. Lopez was very faithful and loved church. Her wonderful personality and her strong Catholic faith will be missed by many.

She is survived by her Husband of 40 years, Mitchell Lopez of New Iberia; one Son, Brach Lopez and companion Talitha Beech of Jeanerette; three Daughters, Shelly Robichaux and husband Guy of Youngsville, Mary Lopez and companion Josh Boudreaux of New Iberia, Virginia Lopez and fiance Nicholas St. Germain of New Iberia; three Grandchildren, Thomas Lopez of Jeanerette, Chase Lopez of Jeanerette, and Baby Robichaux; and four Brothers, Ronnie Desormeaux and wife Norma of Broussard, Tommy Desormeaux and wife Jeanene of Youngsville, Barry Desormeaux and companion Beth Daigle Dooley of New Iberia and Michael Desormeaux of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her Father, James "Jim" Desormeaux Sr.; and Mother, Mary "Ruth" Verret Desormeaux.

Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Ronnie Desormeaux, Tommy Desormeaux, Barry Desormeaux, Michael Desormeaux, Eric Desormeaux and Ryan Desormeaux.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Lafayette General Hospital for their care and compassion.
