Katie Castille

Lafayette - Funeral Services for Mrs. Valerie Katie Castille, age 78, will be held at David Funeral Home in Lafayette on May 5, 2016. Mrs. Castille died May 3, 2016, at 6:06 p.m. after a brief and unexpected illness.

Interment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Deacon Cody Miller will officiate at the services.

Born July 31, 1937, Mrs. Castille was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana and later resided in Carencro. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched not only our family’s lives in a special way, but all those who knew her. She lived her life and her faith with a humble and quiet strength. For anyone who crossed her path, she had a smile waiting. She had a great love for her family and friends and trusted in God’s gentle Grace. She thought of others before herself and always had a kind word for everyone. Her strength and courage was an inspiration for all and her love showed through her actions. Her life was a blessing and she will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her three sons, Harold Touchet and his wife, Judy, of Youngsville, Randy Castille and his wife, Connie, of New Iberia, Florent Castille, III., and his girlfriend, Bobbie, of Carencro and one daughter, Elizabeth Alleman and her husband, PJ, of Lafayette. She had ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Florent Castille, Jr., her mother, Mrs. Kate Partin and one grandchild, Raven Castille.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lourdes Hospital and the doctors and nurses for their excellent care. In addition, to all those who gave their comfort and support and reached out with a kind word, prayers and warm gestures, you have our eternal gratitude.

The family request that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.. A rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m..

Pallbearers will be Harold Touchet, Randy Castille, Florent Castille III, Florent (Ren) Castille IV, Mark Belaire and John Comeaux.
