Abbeville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Lea Taylor Williams will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Deacon Timothy Marcantel officiating. Interment will follows at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 8:30AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 9:30AM.
A native and resident of Abbeville Mrs. Williams died at 8:20PM on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Lea was a typical mom who was continually impacting the people around her, whether she was working with children or the elderly. She was known for her attention to details and no challenge was too big. She was a member of Lydia Cancer Association; Active supporter of the NAACP; a Vermilion District Parent Advisor; Abbeville High Booster Member; MDA Volunteer; and a member of Who’s Who of Volunteers. She love being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Darren Lee Williams, Sr. of Abbeville; her father, Henry Braden Taylor, Jr. of Breaux Bridge; four sons, Darren Lee Williams, Jr. of Abbeville, Cody Guy Williams of Lafayette, Reco Hank Williams of Abbeville, and Cordell Williams of Abbeville; two daughters, Natasha Williams of Abbeville and Ashley Collins of Abbeville; four brothers, Henry Hank Taylor, III of Houston, TX, Thomas Taylor of Carencro, Demarcus Taylor of Breaux Bridge, and Eric Skipper of Lafayette; three sisters, Idella Williams of Cecilia, Nannette John of Maurice, and Angela Skipper of Lafayette; and thirteen grandchildren, Darren Lee Williams, III, Khloe Mitchell, Le’Anne Mitchell, Jordan Williams, A’Marii Williams, Kayden Williams, Cameron Williams, Jace Williams, Tyler Spraggins, Kameron Williams, Jayden Fergerson, Bryson Fergerson and Jaylie Williams.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Lou Rapheal Taylor; and two brothers, Braden Taylor and Gavin Taylor.
Serving as pallbearers will be Reco Williams, Cody Williams, Darren Lee Williams, Jr., Leonard Mitchell, Thomas Taylor, and Kevin Williams.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kendrick John, Demarcus Taylor, Walter Williams, Jr., Cordell Williams, Henry Hank Taylor, III, Paul Shevin, and Miguel Garcia.
