Alton "Nunu" Bonin

Loreauville – Funeral services will be conducted for Alton J. “NuNu” Bonin, 85, on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mr. Bonin passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, at6:05 PM in a New Iberia hospital.

He was a farmer and also worked for Iberia Parish Government.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra B. Oubre and her husband Ed of Loreauville and Gail B. Dupuis and her husband Gerald of St. Martinville; his brother, Leroy Bonin of St. Martinville; his sisters, Marie Lee Prioux of Loreauville and Verna Mae “Sook” Suard of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Travis M. Guidry of Hawaii, Dr. Chad M. Guidry and his wife Heather of Prattville, AL, Brandi M. Guidry of Loreauville, Brennan Oubre and his wife Bojana of Houston, TX, Keisha Oubre of Loreauville, Carri Oubre of Shreveport, Taylor Oubre of Lafayette, Heidi Foti and her husband Jake of Parks and Glynn Dupuis of St. Martinville and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Earline Rita Dugas Bonin; his father, Anatole Bonin and his mother, Clemance Freyou Bonin.

Pallbearers will be Dr.Chad Guidry, Glynn Dupuis, Johnny Bonin, Lon Prioux, Ned Dugas and Ed Oubre.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Bijeaux and Landyn Guidry.
