Juanita Jumonville

Jeanerette—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Juanita Jumonville, age 84, on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jody Simoneax officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 8:00 AM until the time of service.

Mrs. Jumonville passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 5:42 AM at Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette, LA. She had been a resident of Maison Teche Nursing Home several years.

Juanita was a member of several Catholic organizations, Catholic Daughters, Legion of Mary and a local rosary group. She also enjoyed in her spare time reading, volunteering with several groups and in her younger years she also enjoyed bowling.

Juanita is survived by her children; Raymond Jumonville and wife Brenda of Jeanerette, Richard Jumonville of Jeanerette, Ernest J. Jumonville and wife Dana of Jeanertte, David Jumonville and wife Mary of New Iberia, Ivan “Mouse” Jumonville and wife Christine of Jeanerette, John Jumonville and wife Liz of Charenton, Joseph Jumonville of Jeanerette and Edward Jumonville and wife Mindy of Jeanerette; brother, Oniell Derise, Jr. and wife Diann of Jeanerette; sisters, May Ruth Mendoza of Jeanerette, Nellie Derise of Jeanerette, Leatirice Marquette and husband Marcel of Jeanerette and Iola Williams of Lafayette; twenty-seven grand children, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Jumonville, Jr. and her parents, Oniell Derise and Anita Savoy Derise.

Servings as pallbearers will be Raymond Jumonville, Richard Jumonville, Ernest Jumonville,  David Jumonville,  Ivan “Mouse” Jumonville, John Jumonville, Joseph Jumonville and Edward Jumonville.
