Curris Buteau

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Curris Buteau, 68, on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre’ Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 7:00 PM.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Buteau passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 5:53 AM at his residence.

He was employed with Exxon for 45 years. He loved fishing, gardening, work and being with his family. The family would like to thank the staff at Bridgeway Hospice and the Jeanerette Vol. Fire Department for all their assistance.

He is survived by his wife for 47 years Jacqueline B. Buteau of Jeanerette; his daughters, Melinda Buteau of Jeanerette and Dena Boudreaux and her husband Eddie of Erath; his son, Curris Buteau, II and his wife Elizabeth of Jeanerette; his grandchildren, Jamie Buteau, Marion Sanchez, Meranda Sanchez, Emylee Boudreaux, Eddie Boudreaux, Jr., Logan Frederick and Gavin Buteau; his great grandchildren, Daylin LeBlanc, Destina é Buteau, Davion Clements, Caleb Theriot, Cierra Theriot, Musalynn Simmons and Ensliee Bohannon; his brothers, Howard Buteau, Edwin Buteau, Sr., Raymond Buteau, Sr. and Rickey Buteau, Sr. and his sister, Audrey Derouen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Buteau, Sr; his mother, Marion Legnon Buteau and his brothers, Lambert Buteau, Allen Buteau and Ray Buteau.

Pallbearers will be Clint “CJ” Clements, Jr., Eddie Boudreaux, Sr., Eddie Boudreaux, Jr., Ray “Johnny” Buteau, Jr., Raymond “James” Buteaux, Jr., Corey Buteau, Thomas Bodin, Sr. and Kevin Verdin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daylin LeBlanc, Davion Clements, Gaven Buteau and Curris “CJ” Buteau, II.
