New Iberia- Graveside services will be held for Mr. Howard J. “Snatch” Hebert Jr., age 94, on Friday June 3, 2016 at 10:00am at Beau Pre Memorial Park with Fr. Ed Degeyter to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday June 3, 2016 from 8:00am until 9:30am.
A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, “Snatch” as he was affectionately known passed away on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 8:10am at his residence. Mr. Hebert was an Insurance Executive with Union National Life Insurance Company for over 25 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, cooking, visiting with friends, gardening, and keeping up with current events and politics. Mr. Hebert also loved to visit the casino and play craps.
He is survived by his children, Jacques Hebert and wife Kate of Jeanerette, Michel “Mitch” Hebert and wife Faye of Jeanerette, and Simone Hebert Tudor and husband Honn of Woodlands, TX; grandchildren, Haley Hebert and fiancé Taylor Dixon of Jeanerette, Jake Hebert of Jeanerette, Ian, Natalie, and André Tudor all of Woodlands, TX; and three sisters, Lorenna Verret of Jeanerette, Clelie Moss of New Iberia, and Lilly Vanbrocklin of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Patout Hebert; parents, Howard J. Sr. and Aileen Hebert; sister, Cecile Charpentier; and infant son, André Hebert.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Dr. James Falterman, Dr. James Walker, and the Employees of Cypress Bayou Casino for always looking after him.
