Mary Katherine Dronette
January 30, 1952 — June 2, 2016
held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 6 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard
with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating the Services. Interment will follow at Calvary
Cemetery of Lafayette.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from
9:00AM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume
on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 8:00AM until the time of the Funeral Mass.
A native and resident of Lafayette for her entire life, Mrs Dronette passed away
peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:45PM. Mary graduated from
Lafayette High School and faithfully worked for 18 years of her career at Cox
Communication. She also had brief stints of employments with St. Martin Bank & Trust and
Property One. She was a kind, giving, and proud wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary
could always be found close to KP’s dugout; she was and always will be his number one
fan. When Mary wasn’t at the ballpark, she and Gene enjoyed camping with their camping
buddies.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gene Patrick Dronette, her son Kevin Patrick
Dronette and his wife Carla Talley Dronette, her grandchildren Kalun Patrick Dronette,
Leah Michelle Richard and Brook Anthony Richard; her sisters Arleen Picard, Joyce Simon
and her husband John Sr.,brothers Robert “Bobby” Morvant;Stephanie and her husband Jon Price and several other nieces and nephews.
Upholding the honor of pallbearers is Kevin Dronette, Kalun Dronette, Brook Richard,
Bryant Dronette, Hunter Dronette, and Chris Jacques. Honorary pallbearers are John Price
and Freddy Vallot.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all Mary’s caregivers. In
lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions can be made payable to Gene Dronette
and sent to David Funeral Home at 316 Youngsville Hwy, Lafayette, La. 70508 (337)

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Mitchell Morvant Sr. and Laura Belle
Morvant; brothers, William “Billy”, Morris Jr and Raymond Morvant and sister, Brenda Morvant.
