Louise Jacob

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Louise Derise Jacob, 85, on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Hodnett and Rev. Chris Hollway officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

A native of Louisa and a resident of Glencoe, Mrs. Jacob passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 8:25 AM at her residence.

She was a retired School Teacher having taught at Glencoe Elementary for 16 years. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. She very much loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Daigle of Glencoe, Pansy Thomas and her husband Butch, Gay Trahan and her husband John all of New Iberia and Merrill Wade Jacob of Franklin; her grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Julie Clifton and her husband Brad, Brock Thomas and his wife Brandy, Kasey Daigle and his wife Jennifer, Joshua Daigle and his wife Dottie, Jason Trahan and his wife Janet, Abby Dupuis and her husband Chad and Brittany Cortez and her husband Nick and her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Sadie Thomas, Amelie and Adeline Clifton, Madison and Maci Thomas, Kathryn, Lily and Addie Daigle, Kayla Bailey, Jacob Trahan, Andrew and Savannah Dupuis, Lyla Cortez and a future great grandson due on October 13, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Merrill J. Jacob; her father, Hypolite Derise; her mother, Mary Ewing Derise; her sisters, Olean Rivet and Alice Hogan and her brothers, Robert “R. D.”, Henry, Jimmy, Roy, Frank, Roland and Lloyd Derise and her son-in-law, Wayne Daigle.

Pallbearers will be Merrill Wade Jacob, Michael Thomas, Kasey Daigle, Jason Trahan, Joshua Daigle and Brock Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will her granddaughters, Julie Clifton, Brittany Cortez and Abby Dupuis.
