New Iberia – A gathering of family and friends will be held for Larry J. Derouen, 68, at David Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday, July 15, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
The New Iberia Veterans Honor Guard will present Military Honors for Mr. Derouen in the funeral home on Friday, July 15, 2016, at 6:00 PM.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Derouen passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at7:00 AM at Iberia Medical Center.
He was a retired carpenter. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard and the U. S. Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Era where he received the National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and Marksmanship Rifle Badge.
He is survived by his brothers, Malcolm D. Derouen, Sr. and his wife Jodie, Francis D. Derouen, Sr. and his wife Sandra, Elridge C. Derouen, Sr. and his wife Brigette, Randall M. Derouen all of New Iberia and Kevin Rabalais of Carrier, Mississippi; his sister, Marsha Guillot of New Iberia; his son, David Alleman and his wife Jessica of Houston, TX; his daughter, Dawn Elizabeth Collins and her husband William of Covington; his aunt, Nedra Legnon; Dannette Pete, Ariel Pete and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonie Derouen and Doris Mae Hebert Derouen and his sister, Andrea Carlisie.
